Lucille Catherine Grassi

In loving memory of Lucille Grassi (77), a mom, bingo aficionado, faithful Christian, and cosmetologist with a unique flair for life, passed away December 15, surrounded by loved ones at The Gosnell House in Scarborough, Maine. Born on November 23, (1947), in Portland, Maine, Lucille entered this world with a twinkle in her eye and a knack for making life an unforgettable adventure. She danced through the lives of many in Maine, Florida, Montana, and Alabama, leaving a trail of laughter, love, and a lingering scent of Virginia Slim 100s in her wake. Lucille was the firstborn of Louis and Teresa Grassi. She is survived by her children, Scott, Adriana, Jason, and siblings Greg, Cathy, Donna, Gino, Chris, Joanne, Francesca, and Monica. Never one to take life too seriously. She had a secret weapon for relaxation - bingo, bingo, and more bingo. Her lucky bingo dabber, a few pictures of her one-eyed cocker spaniel Lulu (yes, the dog was named after Lucille), a few loyal companions, and her contagious laughter turned every bingo outing into a joy-filled night. Once the bingo hall closed, it was time for karaoke. Whether it was Jeannie Teatam's "Meet Me with Your Black Drawers On" or Frank Sinatra's "My Way," Lucille loved the crowd, the cheers, and the genuine joy that came with entertaining her friends. In her professional life, Lucille blessed the world with her cosmetology skills. Her chair, either in a salon or in her kitchen, wasn't just a place for trims and perms; it was a stage where she showcased her artistic prowess, transforming ordinary looks into masterpieces, except the bowl cut she subjected her youngest son Jason to during his elementary school days. A devoted Christian with a heart as big as her hair, Lucille found solace and strength in her faith in Padre Pio and Our Lord Jesus. She always said a prayer when driving by a cemetery: "It's in case they don't have anyone to pray for their souls," she would state. We can only imagine the conversations happening up there now, likely with a celestial bingo game in the background and her trusty dog, Lulu, at her side. As we say our goodbyes, let's remember Lucille for the laughter, the love, and the vibrant tapestry of a life well-lived. Instead of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to The Gosnell House in Scarborough, Maine, in Lucille's memory.
