Randy Craig Mayo

Scarborough – Randy Craig Mayo, 59, passed away on November 28th, 2022, at the Gosnell House after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 19th, 1963, in Rumford, Maine, the son of Craig R Mayo and Gloria Brown Mayo. Randy graduated from Winthrop High School in 1983. During his high school years Randy obtained many accomplishments. He excelled at track and field with a special talent for discus, studied welding which landed him a national scholarship award and earned his EMT certification which took him to work with the team of Winthrop Rescue and Ambulance service up until the age of twenty-one. In 1985, Randy discovered his passion for masonry and found enjoyment working with his father in this trade. Shortly after his father’s passing, Randy continued on establishing his own business known as Creative Masonry. With the earning of his class A driver’s license, Randy had the opportunity to combine his love for travel and sight-seeing with his work. Randy enjoyed working with his hands and in 2015 obtained his barber’s license. A true act of selflessness was managing the The Bread of Life homeless shelter while continuing to run his Creative Masonry business. He felt a strong calling to always help others, placing the needs of the underprivileged above his own. Randy’s character was infectious. His deep belly laugh, contagious smile, helping hand and kind heart were just a few of his wonderful traits. Holidays were special for Randy as he would dress up as Santa for his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed the Patriots, photography, gold panning and collecting calendars. Randy enjoyed writing and completed three screenplays that he was hoping to get published. Above all, Randy's biggest love was his faith in Jesus Christ. Randy would worship, pray, and read his bible almost daily up until he lost his sight. Now he is with his family, his father and brother. Randy is survived by his mother of Farmington, Gloria B. Mayo, brother Travis S. Mayo and with wife Rhonda of Turner, sister Bridgitte M. Veilleux with husband Marc of Sidney; nephews Zachary Mayo and wife Mae, Scott Mendoza of Colorado, John J. Mendoza and wife Tiffany of Colorado, and Matthew Mayo of Colorado; nieces Olivia Mayo of Lewiston and Morgan Veilleux of Sidney. Randy was predeceased by his father Craig R. Mayo and his Brother Kurt A. Mayo A celebration of life will be held on January 14th at 11am. Farmington Elks Lodge 120 School Street West Farmington, Maine 04992.
