Marilyn Ann (Rowland) Nickerson, 83 of Hollis Center, Maine passed on June 2, 2021 at Northern Lights Mercy Hospital from complications of Parkinson's Disease. Marilyn was born at Mercy Hospital Portland, ME to Robert & Virginia (Thacker) Rowland. She attended grammar schools in South Portland, and high school in the Outer D.C. area. She married Edwin G. Nickerson, the love of her life on December 5, 1955. She worked with him at the Reece Corporation in Gorham, ME for many years before they followed the company to Virginia where they lived in Aylett until they both retired and moved to Winter Haven, FL where they lived until 2015 when they returned home to Maine. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and most of all spend time with her family. She was the #1 Prankster in the family and it is currently being carried on by her daughter and grandsons. She had an all out prank war with her daughter while home for the summer one year. And of course anyone close to her knows of her infamous "can of peas" bed story and funny torment of children/grandchildren with her false teeth, lol. She adored her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There was nothing she would not do for family. She loved and was loved by everyone for she had a heart of gold. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her daughter and son in law, Robin &Robert Wallace of Hollis Center, ME, her son and daughter in law, Edwin & Kelly Nickerson Jr and their children Abigail and Edwin III of Buxton, ME, sister and brother in law, Barbara & Bob Rowe of Winter Haven, FL, Sister in Law, Judy Nickerson Troiano of Sabattus, ME, Grandson, Paul Hansen II, his wife Danielle and their children Chance, Lucy and Herlin of Topsham, ME, Granddaughter Nichole Cullen and her daughters Bebe and Aby of Cumberland Center, ME, Grandson Dylan Nickerson of Saco, Grandson Justin Wallace and fiancé Kara Murphy of Biddeford, ME, Granddaughter Amber Brown, her husband Travis Brown and their daughters Evelyn and Eleanor of Harrison, ME as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Edwin Nickerson Sr., father and mother Robert & Virginia Rowland, Sisters, Lillian and Nancy, sister in law, Joanne Nickerson Snow, nephews Philip Sr & Jr, Michael, Christopher and Casey. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the amazing staff of Northern Lights Home-care, the nurses and staff at Northern Lights Mercy Hospital Tyler Suite and Carla of Maine Cremation Care. There will be a private family graveside burial in the near future, date tbd. There will also be a celebration of Marilyn's life at the home of her daughter, Robin, on Saturday, July 17th beginning at noon.
