As this chapter for Albert "Al" Allen has come to an end with his passing from this earthly world on Tuesday, June 25th 2024, we can't help but to look back and marvel at his wonderful life. Born in Medford, MA to Albert and Hazel Allen in 1931, he grew up with his six sisters who have all since predeceased him. He married Gloria Griffin in 1951; the couple made their home in Billerica, MA. They were blessed with two daughters, Susan Bednar (Jack) and Joyce Pike (Kevin). Albert graduated in 1966 from Northeastern University. Eventually, in 1989, Albert and Gloria retired to N. Waterford, ME; and ultimately became grandparents to four grandchildren; Lauryn Verica, Scott Lyons, Cory Beardsley and Steven Lyons. Albert was predeceased by Gloria in 2000. He remarried in 2017 to Nita Provencher. In 2020, Albert became "great-Grampy" to Elle Verica and then to Beau Beardsley in 2023. Albert was known to his numerous nieces and nephews as "Uncle Al, the kiddies' pal" as he took great joy in playing his guitar and singing "I knew an old woman who swallowed a fly" while the "kiddies" sang with him. Albert enjoyed golfing, tending to his garden, and traveling. We are comforted to know that in his passing he will be rejoined with Gloria, his siblings, parents, and beloved dog, Beau.
