Obituary

Amber Lynn Maddox

Amber Lynn Maddox, 37, was born on September 25, 1988, in Bennington, Vermont, and passed away unexpectedly in Biddeford, Maine, on July 30, 2026.

Amber attended Mount Anthony Union High School and later earned an Associate of Science in Nursing from Vermont Technical College. She worked as a registered nurse, dedicating herself to the care and well-being of others.

A gifted artist and entrepreneur, Amber also operated her own business creating and selling handcrafted jewelry. Her original designs included brooches, pendants, bracelets, and necklaces, each reflecting her creativity and eye for beauty.

Amber possessed a natural gift for music. She played the alto saxophone and guitar and found deep inspiration in poetry, especially the works of Emily Dickinson.

Those who knew Amber remember her as brilliant, tenacious, and wonderfully funny. She approached life with intelligence, determination, and a quick wit that brought laughter to those around her.

Amber will be cherished always and profoundly missed by her grandmother, Gudrun Langille; her mother, Anja Spangenberg; her brother, Dylan Spangenberg; her uncle, Steffen Horstman; her aunt, Bettina Kächele; her cousins, Nathan Horstman, Ryan Horstman, and Jonathan Horstman; her domestic partner, Benjamin Hammac; and her beloved children, Jackson Gates, Liam Bailey, Wesley Hammac, and Alesh Gudrun Hammac.

Though her time with us was far too short, Amber's love, creativity, and vibrant spirit will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A private family service in remembrance of Amber will be held in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
