Barbara McLean of Topsham, Maine, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 8, 2022 in Augusta, Maine. She was born on March 7, 1927 in Harpswell, Maine, one of 10 children. She was predeceased by her parents George and Phyllis Blackwell, her husband George McLean, her children Rick, Craig and Robert (Robbie), and her siblings George Blackwell, Sylvia Leighton, Sharon Hollingshead, Leon Blackwell and Dennis Blackwell. Barbara grew up in Brunswick, Maine, and graduated Brunswick High School in 1945. She returned to the Brunswick area in 1973 after living several years in Ohio. She was remembered for her love of children, her generosity, her laughter, and her deeply held faith. She was known for her cooking of authentic Maine recipes and warm hospitality. She is survived by her sister Marian Rollins and her brothers David Blackwell, and Maurice Blackwell, Robert Blackwell, and her children David Garland, Pamela Brown, Kevin Garland, Kathleen Aldrich and Micheal Kulow. Barbara is also survived by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Capital Manor for their care of Barbara.
