Beth Sandra (Melanson) Morrill, 72, of Durham, died peacefully, surrounded by family on February 1, 2025, at Andwell Hospice House in Auburn, Maine. Beth was born in Framingham, Massachusetts on November 1, 1952, to Dr. Reverend Arthur H. Melanson and Dorothy Melanson. She was a graduate of Wellesley High School (Wellesley, MA) and Heidelberg College (Tiffin, Ohio). Beth moved to Maine and married the chef of her life, Bill Morrill. They were married just shy of 42 years. She was predeceased by her parents and older brother, Arthur S. Melanson. She is survived by her husband William (Bill) Morrill, her sister Janet (Jan) and husband Joe Daniel; her brother Terry Melanson Sr. and his wife Darlene; beloved nieces and nephews and extended family (Nancy (Nan) and Bruce Suppes and many in-laws). Beth enjoyed her career. Some of her jobs included: Dartmouth Company, Sonesta Hotel in Portland, Merry Manor in South Portland, Saint Mary's Healthcare and Citi Street Financial (both in Lewiston). In her downtime, she had varied interests, especially enjoying ice cream and root beer floats any time of day or night; mackerel fishing, kayaking, quilling and poking around at yard sales and flea markets. She served as an Election Poll worker in Durham, Maine for several years; was a volunteer tutor for Literacy Volunteers; a former member of Royal River Chapter Sweet Adelines and Red Hat Society in Durham. Special Thanks to Andwell Hospice House caregivers and staff. You were a great comfort to the family during this time. Per Beths' request, a funeral is not being planned. A private family memorial gathering will be scheduled for a later date.
