Christy E.J. Curry, 49, of Bridgton, peacefully passed away at Northern Lights Mercy Hospital on June 27, 2024, with her brother Tom by her side. She was born on December 2, 1974, to parents Donna and Charles Curry. She graduated from Lakes Region High School in 1993. Christy was an athlete in high school and continued to walk several miles a day and exercise throughout her lifetime. She loved bowling and team sports. She was a Red Sox and Patriots fan. Christy loved music. Born into a musical family, she was drawn to singing and songwriting. She was a volunteer for several years at the Maine Blues Festival. She also enjoyed hiking, fishing, and camping, She worked in banking for most of her career, receiving multiple certifications in that field. She was both determined and productive in her lifetime. She often worked more than one job and at one point owned a beautiful home on Quaker Ridge Road in Casco that she shared with her daughter Morgan Stokes and Morgans father, James Stokes. Christy suffered a traumatic brain injury caused by a massive seizure in 2016, which affected her ability to maintain gainful employment after that. Not being able to work in banking was devastating to Christy. However, her sweet personality and great customer service skills helped to get her foot in the door and work part time in other customer – facing roles through the years, which she loved. She is predeceased by her mother Donna Curry, who passed away in August of 2003. She is survived by her daughter Morgan Stokes, whom she loved very much, her brother and her best friend Thomas Curry (Debbie), her father Charles Curry (Gladys), and her grandmother Viola Hazelton of Evington, VA. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins that loved her deeply. The family would like to thank all the friends and family who loved and spent time with Christy during her final days, including Pam Wing, Darlena Shackley, Phil and Susan York, Pam Durgin, Courtney Durgin – Brunelle, and Nancy Jackson. They would also like to thank Cheryl and Nurse Joni from Northern Lights Hospice Care and all other healthcare providers who served Christy over the last several years. A Graveside service will be held on July 27, 2024 at 12 noon, at the Mountain Road Cemetery in Raymond, Maine. The internment will be followed by a brief reception at 77 Mountain Road, Raymond Maine for family and friends.
