Septmeber 20, 1941 - October 10, 2024 Eugene 'Gene' Dolley passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Gene was a graduate of Deering High School in Portland, ME and worked as an auto mechanic in the southern Maine area for most of his career. Gene's greatest accomplishment, in his own words, was his marriage to the love of his life, Betty (Cleaves) Dolley on August 11, 1970 and raising 4 daughters together in their Scarborough, Maine home. Gene's many interests included Astronomy, Native American heritage, listening to Oldies music, traveling, and enjoying being a movie buff with his vast DVD collection. His death was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Betty; and his 4 siblings, Herbert Dolley, Norise Dolley, Maureen (Dolley) Worsley, Catherine (Dolley) Douglass, and nephew Norman Worsley II of Georgia. He is survived by his four children, Julie Morse and her husband, Randy, of Gorham, Vicki Sawyer and her husband, Walter, of South Portland, Mary Dolley of Westbrook, Beth Ross and her husband Gregory, of Marion, IN; and 4 grandchildren, Jessica Keyser, Justin Keyser, Krista Stolzle, Jamie Morse along with 9 great-grandchildren. An informal day of remembrance will be set at a later time. Gene will be remembered by all friends and family.
