George "Chip" E. Lougee Jr. Age 75, of Windham, Maine, passed away on April 17, 2025. Chip was born on December 15, 1949, in Bangor, Maine, to George and Frances Lougee. He grew up in Brewer and later moved to Portland, where he attended Deering High School. From a young age, Chip had a sharp mind and a hardworking spirit that carried him through a lifetime of entrepreneurial adventures. His proudest achievement was creating Sebago Lake Lodge and Cottages and Marina alongside his then-wife, Debra Collet. It became a place where they spent over 20 years building lifelong friendships, welcoming guests, and sharing the place they loved most. Today, Sebago Lake Lodge continues to provide happy memories for guests and the community — a joyful reflection of Chip's enduring legacy. Chip had a passion for life that was impossible to miss. He loved being out on Sebago Lake, collecting and driving classic cars and motorcycles, fishing, and escaping to sunny, tropical places whenever he could. Some of his happiest days were spent fishing with his son, riding his motorcycle, and turning up the music of Jimmy Buffett, soaking in every carefree moment. His humor, creativity, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to know him. Chip's legacy lives on through his beloved children, Matthew Lougee and Christina Farynaz; his close companion, Debra Collet; his sister, Susan Lougee; and his cherished grandchildren, Mila, Lucas, and Jack. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Frances Lougee, and his sister, Karen Lougee. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Windham Veterans Center from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In true Chip style, guests are encouraged to wear something casual and colorful, and to arrive in their favorite sports car or motorcycle to celebrate his adventurous and joyful spirit. Chip will be deeply missed but forever remembered — for the laughter he brought, the memories he made, and the love he shared.
