It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George D. Smith, who passed away on 07/13/2026 at the age of 75.

George was born in Lewiston, Maine and spent a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to family and friends. He went to high school at Portland High and after graduation went into the military. At that point, he was military Police and he decided to continue his education by getting an associate's degree in mechanical engineering.

George is survived by his brothers and sisters- Bob, Tom, Diane, Cathy Jeanine, Judy and Mary. Also, his three kids - Doug, Nikki, And Marcus. His ex-wife and lifelong Partner Cindy and his Ex-wife Brenda. George is preceded in death by his parents Ashley, and Gloria, his brothers and sister Ashley, Eddie, Susie and also, his son, Bobby.

Throughout his life, George enjoyed Music, Nature, Walks, Movies, Playing Cards, and his family and friends. His warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will be remembered by all whose lives he touched.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered support, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any hospice house, if desired.

George will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love. There will never be another one like him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at American Legion Post 197 located at 300 Conant Street Westbrook, Maine 04092. The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 18th from 2:00-6:00 pm.
