Reverend James Slauenwhite, 87 years of age, passed on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Central Maine Medical Center. James was born June 25, 1934 in Monmouth, Maine to the late William and Blanche Slauenwhite. He was the youngest of four children, and was preceded in death by his brother Edward and his wife Sally; sister Esther and her husband Calvin, grandson Thomas Peaslee, and Granddaughter Sonya Slauenwhite. James married Cheryl Berry in 1962, and enjoyed 59 loving years together. James was educated in the Monmouth School System in Maine and graduated with a degree in Deeper Theology from Christian Life School of Theology. He professed his life to Christ at an early age, and entered the ministry in 1979. James was an avid student of prophecy and was sought after for his often expertise. James served as Pastor for the Church of God in Augusta Maine and Modena Pennsylvania. He also served as the associate Pastor for five churches. James loved working in the church and cherished praising the Lord. He retired from the ministry in April 2021, but continued faithfully serving God in the Lisbon Faith Bible Church. James loved to read his bible, praying for and with others, spending time with family, and laughing. He loved hunting, fishing, and organic farming. James' favorite saying was "God made the world 2/3 water and 1/3 land, so you should spend 2/3 of your time fishing and 1/3 of his time hunting." James is survived by his wife Cheryl; children Andrea, Jeff (Eileen), Dan (Debbie) and Michael (Jasmyn); his brother Norman (Lois); 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A graveside memorial service will be scheduled in June 2022, one of James' favorite times of year. This will also help accommodate those individuals unable to travel this time of year and those individuals affected by the pandemic
