Janice J Gitschier, 72, of Bingham passed away peacefully April 24, 2021 at Redington Fairview Hospital after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer. She was surrounded by love and family. She was born to the late George and Dorothy Vadeboncoeur in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Janice graduated from Haverhill High School in 1966.She worked for many years at Community Action in Haverhill doing consumer protection, then for the Visiting Nurse's Association in Andover filing medical records. Janice is survived by her daughter: Kerrie J Alkurabi of Sidney, a sister Judith Curtis of New Hampshire, granddaughters Kayleen, Ameerah, Mikayla, Jaylyn and Jillian as well as a grandson Aiden. She also has four great grandchildren Bentlee, Cooper, Scarlett and Olivia. Janice was predeceased by her parents, a granddaughter, two brothers, her partner Ernie and a son Gerald Gitschier Jr. Janice loved oldies music, playing bingo, writing poems, collecting magnets for her refrigerator, going to Salisbury Beach, watching anything baby, medical or sci-fi on television and spoiling her grandchildren. Her favorite color was anything red. Janice had a big heart, she would message friends and family daily with a " have a good day." She devoted the last 10 years of her life to raising three of her grandchildren. She was also stubborn and set in her ways! She always used to say. "I'm a taurus the bull, and my favorite color is red, what does that tell you?" A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. She requested her ashes be scattered at the beach. So a family road trip to the beach is on the horizon. Arrangements are in the care of Maine Cremation Care.
