Obituary

Jeanne Elaine Miner beloved wife of Harold (Butch) Miner passed away peacefully at her home in Saco, Maine on December 13, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She was a loving mother of three, Colleen Miner who predeceased her, John Miner, and Jeanne (Miner) LaBelle. Born in Brattleboro Vermont, the daughter of Iva (Flynn) Fillion and Charles Mills, she spent most of her years as a resident in Tilton, NH where she lived with her mom and Stepfather, Lawrence (Shorty) Fillion.

As a child, Jeanne loved riding horses and spending time with her friends. She spent many an afternoon sipping milkshakes at Pop's Diner in downtown Tilton. Jeanne also enjoyed a good dance. She and her husband Butch were often known for winning dance contests doing the jitterbug. Jeanne loved all things pretty and enjoyed decorating her home both inside and out. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching and she cultivated her gardens like she cultivated her family, with caring and love. Her flower gardens will provide lasting, fond memories for her family.

Jeanne was the youngest of four children. Her sisters include Barbara Cook, and two sisters Connie Wallace and Bessie Loomis who predeceased her and one brother Raymond Wallace who predeceased her. Jeanne was a loving and treasured Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Jeanne and Butch recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. They lived most of their married years in Tilton, NH where they worked and raised their children. In 2017 they moved to Saco, Maine to be closer to their daughter and family who had already relocated there. Jeanne and Butch wintered in Lakeland, Florida for 10 years and made many lasting memories and friends while they were there.

Jeanne was also a cherished grandmother and great grandmother. She valued the time she spent with her grandchildren as they were growing up. She often got them ready for school; dropped them off and then picked them up and attended many of their school activities. These were precious times for her and the grandchildren.

In keeping with Jeanne's wishes there will be no services and she will find eternal rest at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or your local SPCA.
