Gorham, ME- Jon Larry Roberts, 81 of Gorham passed away on December 24, 2024 at the Gosnell House in Scarborough after a brief illness. Born on October 9, 1943 to the late Arthur and Gladys Prince Roberts. Jon grew up in Scarborough, ME. Graduated from Scarborough High School, class of 1963. Following graduation he joined his father at Roberts Welding Shop. In September 1964 he married his high school sweetheart Sally-Jo Richardson. They had two children together, Polly Roberts Currier and James Roberts. Jon and Sally spent 48 wonderful years together before her passing. When he retired from welding, he drove truck for many local companies. Jon was a master craftsman, creating anything from dollhouses to hotrods. He enjoyed mini tractor pulling, snowmobiling, and watching Dale Earnhardt win the race. Jon loved time spent with family and extended family during cookouts and holidays. Jon was predeceased by his parents, wife, brothers Bradford and David Roberts, sisters Carol Field and Joyce Roberts; Granddaughter Alexis Marie Hutton. Jon is survived by longtime partner Suzanne Burnham; sister Beverly Gill; daughter Polly, son James; grandchildren Patrick, Andrew and Morgan Hutton, Nick Harper, Dylan, Benjamin, Jacob, McKenna, and Brooklyn Roberts; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jon will be remembered for his dedication to his family, work and the community. He will be missed by all who knew him.
