Obituary

Lewiston, Maine – Marguerite Marie Cyr, née Laverdiere, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on June 30, 2025. Born on January 28, 1954, to Leonel and Madeleine Laverdiere in Lewiston, Maine, Marguerite grew up in a loving and close-knit family. She was educated at Holy Family School and Lewiston High School. A devoted Catholic, Marguerite's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. As a member of St. Hyacinth Church in Westbrook, Maine, she found deep fulfillment through prayer, service, and participation in her parish community. Marguerite dedicated much of her working life to housekeeping across various industries, where her diligence, reliability, and quiet strength were deeply appreciated. Yet it was in the warmth of family where Marguerite truly shone. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her beloved grandchildren—Tyler and Madeleine Worcester, Alexander, Jeremiah, and Isidora Harvey—cherishing every giggle, milestone, and moment together. She is survived by her children: Christine Worcester and husband Robert, Patrick Harvey, and Steven Cyr and his partner Kaytee Chadbourne. Marguerite is also survived by her siblings: Suzanne Jacobs and husband Merton, Mariette Reagan and husband William, Jean Laverdiere, Andre Laverdiere and wife June, Dennis Laverdiere and wife Terri, and Theodore Laverdiere. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember her for her kindness and quiet wisdom. Marguerite was predeceased by her parents, two sisters-in-law, Mary Anne and Cathy Laverdiere, and her nephew, David Jacobs. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and quiet strength, forever cherished by those whose lives she touched. On July 10, 2025 a Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am at St. Hyacinth Church in Westbrook, followed by a Graveside Burial at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Lewiston, Maine.
