Obituary

Mary Ann (Landry) Celeste, 64, of Westbrook, daughter of Edgar and Madelyn Landry who preceded her, passed away in her home on January 19, 2023, following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She leaves behind five siblings, Raymond Landry and his partner Larry of FL, David Landry and his wife Joy of FL, Roger Landry and his wife Kathleen of FL, Jason Landry and his wife Catherine of Yarmouth and Carol Perham of Westbrook. She also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews. Mary was born on March 14, 1958 in Westbrook, and was a 1976 graduate of Westbrook High School. Mary and Anthony were happily married for 40 years, and shared an unconditional love for each other. After marrying Anthony in 1982 she became a stay-at-home mother to her four children. Not only did she raise four children, but she also was a caregiver and nurturer to her grandchildren who knew her as "Mimi". Mary worked part-time at Target in South Portland, and most recently at IDEXX in Westbrook. Mary made many friendships throughout her life, and everyone she met loved her. She loved going to Sebago lake, camping at her old stomping ground Lakeside Pines, hosting gatherings and birthday celebrations and most of all, spending time with her family. Her children, and grandchildren meant the world to her, and had a special bond with each and every one of them. Mary had an easy-going, relaxed personality and she selflessly devoted her life to her family. Her home was always open for an impromptu visit and it was common to stay for a bite to eat. She was most content in her typically noisy household, where there was no shortage of laughter. She often said "my house is noisy, but I wouldn't have it any other way". She is survived by her husband Anthony Celeste; and their children, sons Michael Celeste and his wife Angele of Windham, David Celeste and his wife Darcy of Hollis, Christopher Celeste and his wife Kaila of Westbrook and their daughter, Jessica Celeste of Westbrook. She leaves behind her 8 grandchildren, Owen (8), Aria (8), Aubree (6), Emerie (5), Axelson (3), Everleigh (2.5), Lincoln (15 mos) and was looking forward to one more on the way due in May. There will be a private memorial gathering for the immediate family.
