It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Michael J. Arsenault, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, on June 10, 2026. Michael passed away peacefully at home in the loving embrace of his family and closest friends after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 61 years old.
Born on October 19, 1964, in Lewiston, Maine. He grew up in the Oxford/Norway area, and graduated Oxford Hills High School in 1983.
On June 29, 1997, Michael married the love of his life, Kelly Cooper-Arsenault, in a beautiful ceremony in Turner. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, blessed with four children: Josh, Corie, Daniel, and Michael. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, warmth, and an open door for anyone in need. Michael was not only a supportive husband and father but also a proud grandfather to his seven grandchildren, Jacob Cooper-Arsenault, Abigail Allen, Jackson & Jaysea Pratt, and Sophie, Connor and Flynn Seavey who were the light of his life.
Driven by a profound sense of duty, he served his country in the U.S. Army from 1983 to 1994. His commitment to public service continued for over 35 years, during which he made significant contributions as a volunteer Firefighter, Fire Chief, and Advanced EMT of Turner. Mike was also a respected member of the Nezinscot Masonic Lodge #101 and Kora Shriners.
His family was the cornerstone of his existence. Mike & Kelly were inseparable they did everything together as best friends. They were co-founding members of Fire & Iron #707, an organization that blended their love for service with his passion for camaraderie and motorcycles. Michael was the person you could always count on for a conversation, a helping hand to fix something, or a shared joke. His love of music and sports aided his ability to connect with people, regardless of their background, was a testament to his genuine and compassionate nature.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the memories of a life well-lived, and the indelible mark Michael left on this world. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire his loved ones, and his memory will forever remain a blessing in the hearts of all who knew him.
Michael was the cherished son of the late Alfred and Leona Arsenault of Waterford. He is now reunited with them in eternal peace. He is survived by his wife Kelly Cooper-Arsenault; Children Joshua & wife Chelsea Pratt; Corie Seavey; Michael Arsenault; Daniel Seavey; sister Nancy & husband Daniel Witham, Ann Gatchell, brother in laws Carroll Cooper, Rusty Cooper, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to honor and remember him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a community service organization in Michael’s name, continuing his legacy of giving and service.
Rest in peace, dear Michael. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
