Obituary

Noreen Audrey Waltman passed onward to God's Heaven in the Arms of Angels on August 25, 2022, naturally at the Gosnell House in Scarborough, ME. She was born Noreen Audrey Nielsen on April 3, 1937, Portland, ME to Audrey Estelle Woodard and Norman Axel Nielsen. Noreen was loved fiercely by anyone and everyone who had the honor of knowing her because she loved unconditionally and passionately without judgment. She was known by many names: Mumma, Ma, Grandma, Big Grammy with the White hair, Sis, Nonie, Aunt Reen, Great Aunt Nectarine, Queen Bee, The Danish Mafia, Queen Soloman, My Desert Rose only to name a few. The most important thing to Noreen was family. She cared for her entire family purposely, protectively and taught us all so much. She is a true teacher of compassion and humility absorbing all the bad in people; changing it to pure love. She grew up and loved Portland, ME eventually settling in South Portland, ME where she lived for 56 years. Her Nielsen side had the only authentic Danish Bakery "Otto's Bakery" in Portland, ME. at Rosemont Corner. Her Mother Audrey Woodard came from the Bangor area to work in the Shipyard during WWII as "Rosie the Riveter." Noreen was a proud Mother, Wife, Daughter n Sister, Aunt who helped raise her Siblings. a Cub Scout Den Leader, worked the Caucasus, Volunteered at Voting places, Advocated for Mainstreamed Education for All Learning Abilities and after her children were grown worked occasionally outside the home. She loved to travel to Nevada, Arizona and out West. She and her husband, Harold traveled to many places by car, plane, boat and by desire. Lobster feeds, Barbeques, Family Holiday Dinners and everyday gatherings were Best at her home. Everyone was always welcomed and included. Noreen is Predeceased by Harold C. Waltman Jr, Husband, Dexter G. Lord, Husband, Constantino Di Lallo, Husband, Sons: David G. Lord, Peter E. and Paul J. Lord (Twins), Brothers: Herbert C. Nielsen, Arthur P. Nielsen, Sister: Linda G. Howard, Grandson: Dexter G. Lord, Great Granddaughter: Paige M. Piawlock, Nieces: Melissa Nielsen, Amelia Larracey, Noreen is Survived by her Children: Yvette M. Di Lallo, Daniel J and Deven P. Lord (Twins), Shyon M. Waltman, Siblings: Eileen M. Johnsen, Penney L. Gilliam, Grandchildren: Yvonne Piawlock, Brittany Petsinger and Darcy Rose, (Twins) Jennifer Conlogue, Abygail Bradbury, Jaykob Waltman, Great Grandchildren: Brooke Piawlock, Ashlynn, Gunnar and Xander Petsinger, Hailey and Jason Conlogue, Katie, Leelou and Dexter Lord III. Nephews: Christopher Johnsen, Brian Nielsen, Carey Nielsen, Andrew Howard, Nieces: Cheryl Nielsen, Stephanya Johnsen, Jody Johnsen, Sherri Alden, Patricia Howard. Great Nieces and Nephews: Tomas Johnsen, Mariah Siemone Jenkins, Brandon Jenkins, Alexis Jones, Sonya Foy, Mercedez Maddalena, Brandon Croy, Jenna Pesce There will be a Graveside Service at Highland Memorial Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life at the American Legion Hall.
