Patricia Ann Rainey March 11, 1950 – October 29, 2025 Patricia "Pat" Ann Rainey (Rice) of Windham, Maine, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of her girls. Born on March 11, 1950, in Portland, Maine, to Kenneth and Shirley Rice, Patricia was the oldest of six siblings. She is survived by her brothers Kenneth Rice and wife Donna, Mike Rice and wife Gail and Arthur Rice. Sister Mary Sinclair and partner David Serrano. Her beloved baby sister Rose Peterson and her husband Peter. On July 12, 1969, Patricia married the love of her life, Paul Frederick Rainey. Together they built a beautiful life and, in 1978, settled in Windham, where they put down roots and raised their family. She lost her husband in 2021. Patricia will be lovingly remembered by her children Nathan Rainey, Bree Rainey and Husband Joseph Woods, her beyond adored grandchildren Deanna Rainey, Avery Woods-Rainey, and Stella Woods-Rainey, bonus granddaughter Mary Woods and two great grand babies Layne and Reagan Baker. Along with many nieces and nephews. Patricia was known for her kindness, her humor, and her open heart. She spent many years working at Hannaford in Windham, where she became a familiar and friendly face to countless customers and coworkers. She took early retirement to be caretaker for her husband after a accident took his leg. Her home was always a open, safe, welcoming space for her children and grandchild's friends and anyone who needed a place to land. She was "everyone's mom," always ready with a meal,a can of soda and words of comfort. A Celebration of Life will be held at her home in Windham this Saturday 11/8/2025 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., where friends and family are invited to share stories, laughter, and love in her memory. Patricia's life was a testament to love, generosity, and caring nature. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
