Robert Charles was born in Saigon, S. Vietnam on 10/31/1953. He and many children were sent to France during the war to live in orphanages. As a teenager he came to the US and had to attend school without the ability to speak or write in English. He was an intelligent and very determined individual who not only graduated high school but went on to college and became a nuclear electrical inspector at the Portsmouth Navel Shipyard.

Robert was loved by his wife of 40 yrs. Pamela (Smith) Charles, his daughter Mindy McNally and granddaughters Alexis (Morse) McNally, and Gabrielle McNally.

Robert was a veteran who served in the US Army. He will be remembered as a good and kind person who never forgot to thank anyone who helped him. He had a long and difficult battle with Parkinsons and lung cancer and lost the battle on Dec. 9th 2025 to pneumonia. He will be missed by those who knew him best.
