Robert Provencher, 87, of Biddeford, Maine, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2023 at Pinnacle Health and Rehab in Sanford, Maine. Robert was born on June 12, 1936 to Raoul (Ralph) and Antionette (Tardif) Provencher in Biddeford. After graduating from St. Louis High School in 1955 he married Jeanne (Sylvestre) Provencher on January 12, 1957. Together they raised five children, Susan, Daniel, Linda, James and Kevin and were together 49 years until her passing in 2006. In his younger years Robert worked as a delivery truck driver for Sunbeam Bakery and King Cole Potato Chips. In 1972 Robert and Jeanne took over his parent's family business, Ralph's Italian Sandwiches (also known as Ralph's Place) On Main Street in Biddeford. This family owned business was well known to locals for 56 years. He also drove a school bus for Biddeford for 26 years from 1979 to 2005. Robert and Jeanne enjoyed life at their cottage on Ossippee Lake in Waterboro, Maine where he had many family gatherings. In 2005 Robert and Jeanne moved to Bangor, Maine where he took up the love of gardening. His favorite pastime was making puzzles and he enjoyed watching sports; especially the Red Sox, Patriots and the Boston Bruins. After the passing of his wife in 2006 Robert met Patricia Cole and the two of them lived together and enjoyed each other's company for 10 years. Robert is predeceased by his wife, Jeanne Provencher; parents, Raoul and Antionette Provencher, and his brother, Richard Provencher. He is survived by his children; Susan, and her husband, William Stanley, Daniel, and his wife, Patricia Provencher, Linda, and her husband, Richard Emery, James Provencher, and his fiancé, Robin, Kevin Provencher, and his friend Melissa; siblings, Michael, and his wife, Diane Provencher and Carmen Petrin. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren and his very dear friend Patricia Cole. Friends and family are welcome to join a Celebration of Life on July 15, 2023 from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Camp Laughing Loon on Ossipee Lake in Waterboro, Maine for a luncheon in Robert's memory.
