Roger A. Oliver Jr. passed away Friday,January 31, 2025 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. He was born on September 24, 1955 in Bath, Maine to Marjorie A. Oliver and Roger A. Oliver Sr. Roger was known to family and friends as Alan. He preferred to be known by his middle name. Alan attended schools in Bath and graduated from Morse High School in 1973. In his younger years, he bowled regularly in leagues at Yankee Lanes in Brunswick and also played and excelled at Little League and Babe Ruth baseball. He also played and excelled in Men's Softball as a young adult. He was an avid New York Giants football, Boston Red Sox baseball fan and Boston Celtics basketball fan. Alan worked for Yankee Lanes in Brunswick, Dodge Chevrolet in Bath, Goodwins Chevrolet in Brunswick, Amato's Pizza (Brunswick) and the US Postal Service (Brunswick) where he was a rural route mailman for several years before retiring. Alan is pre-deceased by his parents (Roger A, Oliver Sr. and Marjorie A. Oliver), his wife (Margaret), and his brother (Peter). He is survived by his brother (David), his son (Luke Oliver), his daughter (Isabella Oliver), his step-daughter Gabrielle Conley, granddaughter (Wren Knight), and grandson (Rowan Oliver). He is also survived by an aunt and uncle, several cousins and a niece and several nephews. There will be no funeral service. A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
