Timothy M. Giasson, 67, of Rumford, died at Coastal Manor in Yarmouth on March 25, 2023, and went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born on April 12, 1955 in Rumford, Maine. He was the son of Arthur and Emma (St. Pierre) Giasson, Sr. Tim graduated from Rumford High School in 1975. He worked at Central Maine Power Company, Walmart and several other jobs over the years. Tim was a friendly, kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by many whose lives he touched. He loved sports, especially basketball and fishing, and he was vastly knowledgeable regarding sports trivia and memorabilia; but his fondest memories were coaching basketball. He is survived by his companion, Sylvia Searles of Rumford; brothers, Arthur and wife Jane of Rumford; Thomas and wife Zandria of Canaan; sister, Linda and husband David Breau of Augusta; favorite cousin, Pam Kimball of Lewiston; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers James and Harvey. Many thanks to the staff of Coastal Manor and Beacon Hospice for their professionalism and kindness to Tim in his last days. At Tim's request donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Barbara Bush Children's Hospital. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
