William A. Higgins, aged 85, passed away on April 6th, 2023 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, ME. William was born in Bridgton, ME on July 14, 1937. After graduating high school, he joined the Army in 1956, where served for two years then remained in the Army reserves for several years. He married his wife Donna Higgins (nee: Stevens) in February of 1958. Together they had six children. William worked for Crosby Group Laughlin as a hammer man and retired from Douglas Brothers in 2000 where he worked in maintenance. In his free time William enjoyed fishing, especially at the Songo Lochs, tinkering with various things around the house, popping in to visit with family, and listening to various types of music. William is predeceased by his parents Robert and Grace Higgins, wife Donna Higgins, and grandson Justin Higgins. William is survived by Sherri Josserand of Standish, Donald Higgins of Standish, Scott Higgins of Lewiston, Sean Higgins of Gray, Deana Higgins of Portland, and Marie Cook of Sabattus; as well as their spouses, nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, as well as numerous family members and close family friends. The family of William wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the VA Geriatrics team, Beacon In-Home Hospice, Sacopee Valley Nursing and Home Healthcare, and Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
