Direct Cremation Charges Include:

Arrangements made remotely online; no in person visit required.

Professional service of Funeral Director and Staff.

Transportation of your loved one (within 50 miles of Portland, ME * ) from place of death to our care center. An additional charge of $200 will apply if transfer of remains requires two staff members.

Secure sheltering of your loved one for the 48-hour state required holding period.

Alternative Container required for cremation.

Transportation of your loved one to the care of Crematory.

Notifying Social Security.

Submit completed obituary to publication of your choosing. Additional cost determined by publication.

Place obituary on our website free of charge.

* Additional fee of $3.00 per mile after the first 50 miles from Portland.

Composing an obit: $95No charge if family composes the obituaryNewspapers will have a separate charge for publishing the obituary.Obituaries are placed on our website for free.

Separating ashes and filling urns not purchased through us: $25 per item filledNo charge if item is purchased from us.

Shipping cremated remains (US ONLY): $195

Drop off of cremated remains (20 mile radius from Portland): $195
Acquiring death certificates: $15 for each certified copy.

Private viewing of your loved one, to be held M-F: $295

Death at a residence: Should your loved one's death occur at a residence or other non-medical facility an additional $200 fee applies. (Under these circumstances, our company policy requires two of our staff members to facilitate the safe transfer of your loved one into our care.)

Transportation for another funeral home: If your loved one is taken into our care from the place of death and then other arrangements are made with a different funeral home, we charge $495 for the initial transportation from place of death.

Sheltering of remains past 7 days: $50 per day after 7 days past the date of death.

Witnessed Cremation: Should you want to witness or help with the transfer of your loved one into the retort at the crematory there is a $395 charge to do so. This needs to be scheduled in advance of your loved one going to the crematory.

Rushed Cremation: $300. Typical turn around time from the date we take someone into our care until their ashes are able to be released to the family is one week. A rushed cremation has the ashes back to the family the same day that cremation takes place.

In Home Arrangements: $300, can be added to any In Person Essential Care Cremation Package if you'd prefer the Funeral Director to come to your home to make arrangements. (Within 20 miles of Portland)

Oversized Alternative Container: $150, basic alternative containers can accommodate up to approximately 280lbs. If a larger container is needed the cost is $150

Dressing the deceased/obtaining ink fingerprints: $75
